The OSU Manga Club Yakuzas:

Origin of Vatos Dreame

Back at the end of September/beginning of October, while walking on High Street, we had this bright idea dawn on us, as Halloween was approaching: That we should get everybody at OSU(Ohio State University) Manga Club to dress up like yakuzas(Japanese mobsters). We all laughed about it at first, but after a while, the idea kinda stuck to us. And although not everybody ended up dressing up as yakuzas, four of us did, and looked good doing it. That was the origin of the Vatos Dreame project.

Val Urbaniak, Dan Wilkens, Frank Williams, and myself were the ones who remained with the idea, and basically dubbed ourselves the 'OSU Manga Club yakuzas'. The "plot" for the project was later pitched in that night, to feature those four characters as wondering 'for-hire' yakuzas, with no memories at all of their past. And from there, it developed into what it is now, a projected multimedia saga, that spans ten years of the character's lives.
